MPR is a 501C3 nonprofit organization run exclusively by volunteers. Donations are tax deductible.
Rescuing dogs is a very expensive endeavor and our volunteers have their hands full. We can't always keep up. You can help us out by donating money or sponsoring a Pit Bull in our care to ease our burden and make it possible for us to continue rescuing dogs.
Every dog in our program will cost an average of $250.00 depending on his or her medical needs and length of stay. To give the dogs a better chance however, our adoption fee is only $125.00. This means that MPR absorbs half the cost of most dogs in our program. Pit Bulls can take several months to place. Some of our rescue dogs have been in foster care for as long as one year. Many of them come infested with parasites, including heartworms and/or mange which is very expensive to treat. In addition, the dogs need food, toys, crates, other medical care, etc. We board many of the dogs in our program and must pay for rent, utilities and supplies. We print educational material and other supplies needed for adoption events.
Some of our foster homes have become mini sanctuaries for hard to place Pit Bulls and care for several dogs at the time. Imagine when everyone needs their shots - Or think about parasite season when all the dogs need flea and heartworm prevention once a month.

The "Sponsor a dog" programs have made a world of difference for our rescue dogs. Even if you cant bring a new dog into your home, you can still save a life....
Our sponsor programs allow us to buy good quality food for the dogs in our care, to spare no expense to give them efficient parasite management, to assure essential medical care to the dogs who need it, to buy extra toys and treats, dog houses, supplies, etc. Without it, we would not be able to help as many dogs.

Send us an Email to let us know which dog you would like to sponsor and which program you prefer. We will add your name or the name of your company below the dog of your choice.
Note: While donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated, only the amount specified for a particular program makes you eligible to have your name as a sponsor, unless you select the "Well Wisher" program.
Note: We do not have an automatic system to remind you when your donation is due again. You can set up a billpay system with your bank if you want. If we do not get your monthly donation within 2 months, we will remove your name and try to find a new sponsor for the dog.
Note: It is possible that your donation will come at the same time as someone else for the same dog. In that case, we will contact the person's who's donation came second and ask them to chose another dog (or we may suggest a dog for them).

This program is open to those who want to sponsor the monthly care of a rescue dog. Food, toys, and parasite management. This means a minimum monthly donation of $35.00 until your protégé is placed.

Our "Guardian Angel" program is open to those who want to sponsor the full care of a rescue dog in need. An initial $135.00 and then $35.00 a month for maintenance. |

amount of money to help us pay for special medical needs, boarding fees, or other outstanding expenses. Note that your name will only be added onto the dog page for this program, not on the main listing. |

For those individuals that are not able to foster or donate but would still like to help do something, we have available a donation/fundraising letter that can be printed off and distributed to businesses and individuals in an effort to raise funds for the dogs of MPR. Please help us provide a safe haven for needy Pit Bulls in Missouri. MPR is currently raising money
to buy a land and build a Pit Bull resort for APBT's in need in the MidWest. Our volunteers are willing, ready and eager to make this dream come true. All we need is financial help from people and organizations who share our vision so this dream can become a reality
