Marisol and Geoff,

Hi. Just wanted to thank you both for taking the time to drive to St. Louis yesterday. We all enjoyed meeting you and are very happy with Jewel. We took her to PetSmart for some food and a new collar and harness. Her collar is the osterich leather and it's pink! ha! She really looks like a girl now. Her harness is black and we have a black leash so on her walks last night and this morning she was looking pretty hip.

My friend Jim came by around 3 yesterday and just loves her. We have an old friend in town who lives in the Keys now so she came over too. They think Jewel is the coolest. Jim said we may come home some day and she will be gone. But not to come to his house because he will have moved by then. His pit bull, Kymo, died a few years ago. His parents just had to put theirs (Max) down in the begining of August. Jim called his parents and said he is going to bring Jewel over to see them. I said maybe Monday we will go with him. His dad is 84 and the spunkiest guy you'll ever meet. He loved his dog so much. Jim was out of town when Max died so his parents froze him until he returned. Then they had a funeral. Max is in a pet cemetary with a headstone that has his picture on it and a vase for flowers. They spent 1400.00 on the funeral. Are we all dog lovers or what?

Jewel is eating well and seems to be adapting well. I heard her crying in the middle of the night so came down to let her outside. She was so happy to see me I decided to lay on the couch with her for a while. She slept the rest of the night right by my side on the couch. We got up at 6:30 to go for a walk. We went along the path over the creek bridge. She's just gorgeous. I'll take some pictures.

Grandma is down here with Jewel and I right now having coffee. I asked her if she likes her ok and she said yes. Grandma is a softy too. Brad went to the gym so it's just us girls down here right now.

The dogs have met. It went much better than we could have asked for. They played and played and played. She gave Aspen a run for his money! It was hilarious. They both rolled around and even layed on their backs so the other could check them out.

Again, we can't tell you how happy we are to give her a forever home so another pit has the opportunity to be saved. All of the happy endings are so touching we are glad to be a part of it. I have even thought that maybe when we lose Bailey, we too could foster.

Well, have a wonderful day. Rest assured that she is in good hands.

Love and kisses from Jewel!

Regards,
Aimee Francis

PS: Thanks for all you do with your organization. We are now huge pit bull fans.

Jewel is a beautiful, very friendly, and fun-loving young lady. She has amazing eyes; One sapphire blue, the other one topaz gold - two precious gems.

Beautiful eyes | Precious Gems

As if this was not enough, Jewel is also a very friendly gal, with a great sense of humor, and a happy personality. She loves people, and I stress it! She is a real social butterfly!

Happy Gal | Good looking Jewel | Cute Face

Jewel has a way of making you feel like the most wonderful person in the world. She is always thrilled to greet you no matter how long you've been gone - 2 minutes or all day long - You came back so she's consumed with joy.

Jewel's a babe...!

Look at that face | Laying down.. tail wagging

Jewel's best feature besides her good looks and friendly disposition, is her comical personality. She's quite the clown and she knows it. This smart girl is always trying to find ways to make you laugh - She's a riot. Jewel does the "butt-run" in the yard, wiggles on her back for a belly-rub, does the happy Pit bull dance, and she is always in a good mood. She is also very responsive and eager to please. She is energetic but not hyper. Jewel is very content to be a couch potato as well.

"Ah man...! You woke me up just to take pictures...?" | "Life's hard when you're beautiful.."

No one is perfect and Jewel is no exception to the rule.... Funny-lady can jump fences if unattended outside. She just wants to go explore in hope to make new friends. She will need a home with a tall fence. Wooden privacy fence is preferred.

Happy Face | Pausing

Jewel is fostered in a home with two other dogs and she does great with both of them. She has also been introduced to several other dogs and is always friendly and playful. She is perfectly housebroken and crate trained. She "loooves" to cuddle on the couch next to her loved-ones. Her foster parents think she's a gem and no trouble at all.

"Yeah, I feel like a blue eyed beauty today"

"It's definitely a brown eyed babe day now"

Since her rescue, Jewel has been nothing but sweet, friendly with everyone, and very funny. We think she could make a great family pet and her silly antics will never cease to bring a smile in your face.

"Don't you want me?"
