Beautiful Blue Boy | Relaxing...
Cosmos is so beautiful its unreal. He has a striking blue merle & white coat, and a great conformation. His eyes, (called "cracked glass eyes" by catahoula fanciers) are totally amazing. There are no other words to put it; this boy looks like a piece of art.
His pictures make him look intimidating but he is quite friendly and playful in person. It does take a while to get used to his eyes however. Catahoula type dogs are less expressive than Pit Bulls and therefore harder to read. When you are familiar with Cosmos though, you soon realize what a goofball he is but the first impression is one of a serious and intimidating dog.

Cosmos is incredibly smart and this can be an asset or a chalenge depending how you see it.

Cosmos can climb fences (even 6 foot privacy fences) and keeping him contained is a challenge. This dog cant be left outside unsupervised. He doesn't like being outside alone anyway. While this is a frustrating problem, Cosmos has enough charm to make up for the inconvenience. He just needs an owner capable of outsmarting him and willing to provide him with a structured environment.
Cosmos is ok with most other dogs and does well with females. He likes to play hard though and roughhousing needs to be supervised - Cosmos wont back down from a challenge and is somewhat dominant. He will not be placed in a home with another male dog.
Cosmos is fully housebroken and perfectly crate trained. He is comfortable with older kids and friendly with people, though he is a little reserved at first. Cosmos is protective and needs to be handled responsively. This dog is "remarkably" smart and quite the problem solver. He is responsive but needs strong leadership.
Cosmos loves blankets and comforters and appreciates any little bit of attention he can get. He is easygoing, yet playful. He mastered the play-bow position when he wants something and is very funny. There is still a lot of pup in this dog and he cracks us up. Cosmos is very entertaining, to say the least ;-) APPLY NOW!

NOTE: Cosmos has a lot of anxiety, especially during storms, and needs owners that can work with him when something makes him nervous. We don't recommend a home with toddlers and very young children for this dog. Cosmos is too sensitive and though he's never shown any aggression, he can be edgy when scared.
