Aspen
was introduced to other dogs and is doing very well under
supervision. She could probably live with a nice and friendly
male. She
is fostered with cats and is great with them. She doesn't
try to chase them or get overly wild with them. She just
sniffs
them and
licks
them and goes about what she was doing already. So a home
with
cats should be okay for Aspen.

Aspen
is safe at the boarding facility, but the situation is hard
on her. It's obvious she was someone's pet before her luck ran
out. Dogs accustomed to having a couch to sleep on and lots
of pets and kisses can really struggle in a kennel environment,
despite the fact the staff spends as much time with them as
possible. Aspen can only hope someone will soon give her a chance....
Update: Aspen
has been transferred to a foster home to work on housetraining
/ intestinal issues. She seems to do fine when supervised,
but needs work for when she's home
alone.
This
may be from possible parasites or neglect when young, so
she is visiting with a vet for a professional diagnosis and
hopefully will this will be fixed soon. For now,
she'd do best in a home where someone was home all
day to let her out often.
Update 2/16/04: Aspen has been doing GREAT with housetraining
and has been sleeping continuously throughout the night,
and is doing much better in her crate. She is fine for up
to four hours in her crate, and hasn't had an accident in
the house in a while now! Go Aspen!!!
