Quite often dogs that attack are identified as Pit Bulls when they are not. There are 20+ breeds that are commonly incorrectly identified as pit bulls.
This quiz illustrates very well why banning Pit Bull dogs is a mistake. First of all, as demonstrated below, identifying a Pit Bull is a challenge and highly debatable. Secondly, by banning a breed that may very well not be responsible for all the problems it is blamed for, we are leaving the door wide open to the real culprit(s), in some cases dogs that, unlike Pit Bulls, have been bred specifically to be human aggressive.
