MPR primary means of housing dogs until their forever home is found consists in a wonderful network of foster homes in the Kansas City area. This arrangement has saved the life of countless dogs but is limited by space, dog compatibility, municipalities ordinance, etc.
In order to increase our ability to rescue homeless Pit Bulls in the region, MPR is leasing space in a boarding kennel in the Kansas City area. We have access to 6 kennels and 2 fenced yards, including a 1 acre enclosed area for exercise & play time.
Our rescue dogs are kept at the mini-shelter temporarily and moved to foster care as soon as we have an opening. The available kennel makes room for a new homeless dog and the ball keeps rolling.
The dogs are kept in large kennels and comfortable kennels. The dogs are visited by volunteers at least three times a day, seven days a week for exercise and socialization time. The happy gang spends time inside on the couch, running around in the large fenced yard or playing with toys. MPR's mini-shelter is a work in progress. We need your help to keep improving this life-saving Pit Bull resort.

We are asking for our supporters to consider making a donation to our mini-shelter fund. It is our goal to create a place of such comfort and happiness that the dogs in our program can’t tell their new forever home, from their old temporary home. Many of them have been abandoned, abused, neglected and have never known love and goof care before arriving in our program.... One thing they all need is love and a comfy couch to cuddle on....
We look forward to an exciting year in MPR. Help us make 2012 a great one!
