Foster Situation: Marmalade is currently at the mini-shelter. She is doing well and learning good house manners.
It is possible that Marmy has a mild neuromuscular disorder but it doesn't seem to bother her what so ever. She's just a little clumsy at times and it only adds to her charm. She is such a silly clown.
Marmy is still very much a puppy. She likes to be a goof and always wants to play. We are working on teaching her bite inhibition and how to control her playfulness.
Marmy is also learning leash manners and is receiving much needed socialization. She does better with just a regular leash rather than a harness style leash. She does not have the best balance so she might stumble around a little during car rides. Everything is new to her and she is learning to cope with her disability.
Marmy is used to sleeping in her kennel all throughout the night without any accidents.
Marmy needs a patient home, someone with a ton of patience and willing to work with a puppy that has a little bit more difficulty learning rather than others. Though she loves children, we believe older kids would be better at this point, while we are working on the nibbling. If she goes in a home with another dog, a submissive male might be better. Marmy will also need strong leadership and someone that is home a lot.
So Pretty | Precious | Love-a-bull | Sweet eyes
Personality: Marmalade is outgoing but she sometimes gets insecured in situations she is not familiar with. She doesn't like to let you know that though. We are working on socialization. She has cuddly moments but being a puppy, she prefers playing to cuddling. We believe that will change as she matures. Marmy is calm and well behaved in her crate.
Marmalade's breed is indeed debatable and she has actually been approved to live in Overland Park.
Ador-a-bull | Sitting | Standing
Other dogs: She is somewhat dominant with other dogs and we think she would do better as an only pet or with a very laid back male that would let her be the queen. If placed with another dog, she will require vigilant supervision and an owner who understands the breed well.
Kiss-a-bull | Too Cute | Gorgeous Green Eyes
Training: We have been working on "sit" and "kennel". She has been doing better with "sit", but loves to play and gets side tracked easily. With "kennel" with a little guidance she normally goes in without struggle.
Though almost there, Marmy is not completly house broken yet. She does well if she is on a consistent schedule.
Marmy is easily distracted and often needs to be refocused on an exercise She is quite enthusiastic with her toys and we are working on a release command.
Cutie | Sweetheart | Wrinkly Face
Best Attribute: She is totally goofy and will have you laughing at all times. She is so clumsy and when she stumbles she looks at you hoping you didn't see her and if you did she'll look at you like it was your fault she stumbled. And who could resist that wrinkly face?
