Aimee's story with MPR began the day one of our volunteers went to the shelter to bail out another dog. Aimee was in terrible shape and our fund is too small to help dogs with big medical needs. Our volunteer could only give her a little kiss through the cage and tell her that her suffering would soon be over....

Some dogs just seem to have very strong guardian angels....

Despite her terrible condition, something kept pulling our representative back to her cage. It was obvious that this poor little dog had known nothing but suffering all her life. Aimee's eyes had made that inescapable connection and the volunteer felt a strong desire to show her what it feels like to be loved and well cared for. Her case was brought up to MPR.

The first thing we noticed besides Aimee's sweet personality and adorable little face, was the terrible ear infection that had gone untreated for so long it was now past the point of no return. She was also very underweight and covered in scars... We figured right away that her medical needs would be extensive. Yet, we couldn't help but hope there was something we could do for this little dog and that we would be able to turn her life around. This is when the name "Aimee" came to mind. Aimee means "loved" in french, and no matter what would be the outcome for this sweetheart, she would be loved for the first time of her life and we would do all we could to make sure she knew it.

We immediately contacted a generous MPR supporter who had been offering to help a dog with medical needs if needed. We sent her Aimee's pictures taken at the shelter and this one reached her heart just as it had reached ours.... Aimee had found a human guardian angel competently dedicated to paying all it would take to put her back on her feet. MPR gang was thrilled beyond words - There was hope for Aimee....

So with a lot of anticipation, we bailed out this skinny little dog covered in scars, with ears so badly infected the inside had turned into "cauliflowers" (the expression used by vets to describe what happens to chronic untreated ear infections). The vet explained that Aimee needed a "Teca" (or Total Ear Canal Ablation). The prognostic was very good and Aimee's long life of pain and headaches should be over soon.

So Aimee was immediately transferred to a foster home and had her surgeries in October, which were a success. She is gone through convalescence and is finaly ready for adoption. Her foster mom cant believe the difference in Aimee since she had the surgeries. She is feeling so much better and appears very relieved to finally be able to enjoy life without pain. She is soooo deserving.

PHASE 1
PHASE 2

All Aimee needs now, is a caring family to cherish and pamper her for the rest of her life. You will never find more grateful little dog. Please help us show Aimee what it feels like to be loved....
